Nice

Sometimes 
I contemplate
why we insist 
on being mean?

Why?

We only have
one life

Negative emotions
kills us
it kills those around us

Lord help me
to be nice
today

even when 
my reaction
stirs negativity
whisper joy

I want to 
be nice
today
and hopefully
tomorrow 
will follow suit.
