A Night In Life

Last night a girl died in my stairway
Life is pitiless when you run out of paths
She lived day to day
But only by hope
Her life was ended
By eyes that had none
Last night I dreamt the city was gray
With gray faces and sagging muscles
That seemed to hold onto this life
Of the shattering skies in the brightness of
These blackened streets
Then, I fall to my knees and I cry
Yes, I fall to my knees and I cry
I just can't take this anymore
I just can't take this no more
I rush down to the bloodstained streets
I plug myself into the hydrant
And let that water wash over me
Let the water baptize me
Last night I rode the golden ray
I talked to the old gray faces
That tried to tell me
Tell me about this life
Of the warring tribes
In the blackness of
These dead end streets
I fall to my knees and I cry
Oh yes, I fall to my knees and I cry
Then I scream.....
I just can't take this anymore
I just can't take this no more
And I rush down to the blood stained street
Plug myself into the hydrant
And let that water wash over me
Let the water baptize me..........

Good, but it seems like almost a song rather than poetry... I would try putting it to music if you play an instrument.
Pretty cool that you picked up on that....I do play an instrument and this is a song.......I am currently finishing the music for it. I've played it at some open mikes and its been getting a pretty good response. Thank you for recognizing that........Tony
