Found it by chance on the internet 
Something that I will not now forget
Gives me so much happiness and joy 
Takes me back to when my Dad was a boy

I'm referring to a radio show called Nightbeat
Just what I like it's right up my street
Frank Lovejoy was the star of the show 
Takes the part of a reporter from Chicago 

He investigates all forms of human life 
From nasty murderer to downtrodden wife
All of them finish up in his daily newspaper 
Tonight's episode is called The Crime Caper

With radio you had to imagine what you see
Ruined and spoilt by pictures on the TV
I prefer radio shows from the fifties for sure
