Nightmares

He finds you in your nightmares just as he has before
Three, four you better lock your door
He visits in your dreams, watches as you sleep
It isn't just your secrets he's always meant to keep
You ask yourself the question, how can this be true
One, two you know he's coming for you
So you grab your blanket covering your head
You hope that you'll be safe tucked up in your bed
Now you chant the rhyme, you know how it must end
You thought that this was all a dream, nothing but pretend
Now you know it's real, you get to nine and ten
Knowing that you'll never, ever sleep again
