Nikki Loved Linda

When I met my Soulmate Linda, she already had a true love in her life;
Who had been with her over twelve years, and had alleviated lots of strife!
It was her gorgeous German Shepherd, a very striking lass;
Nikki was her lovely name, she was totally "first class"!
.
Her pedigree was a mile long, she came from Championship breed;
She had won several Blue Ribbons, the judges said, “Yes, indeed”!
The first time that I met her, I thought that she would jealous be;
But she quickly stuck her tongue out, planting kisses all over me!
.
She loved where they moved to, when Mommy’s marriage ended in divorce;
Her Sister’s multi-acre mansion, with lots of land, Nikki would enforce!
She would stay out in the fresh air, for several hours a day;
When we would pull into the long drive, she’d come running right our way!
.
Sadly, thirteen months after I met her, she started to go downhill;
Then just before the New Year, our eyes became tear-filled!
We held her close, as they ended, all her suffering and pain;
Our Dearest Angel Nikki, in our hearts, you will e’er remain!

In October of 2001, we bought our precious baby Bichon Friese, and named him Nico, in honor of dear Nikki.
