Nirvana

I hold the cool glass against my warm skin

Red droplets trickle over the surface

I look at them with longing

Touch my fingertip to one and hold it to my lips

Something explodes inside me

I am drunk on one sip

Here with this glass I find absolution

Peace

I am strong

I have found my Nirvana

I press a little harder

And watch as trickles of blood wind their way

Down my thigh

All the way to the floor
