No audience

No audience

You were the only bass player
I could ever play alongside
When everybody to our faces
Boldly lied
And said, "Just keep on gigging"
And you're rock and roll dreams will come true
But I would have played to no audience
With nobody else but you
Nobody else but you
Nobody else but you
Nobody else but you

You were the only drummer
I ever thought was "rock-steady"
And with the "1,2,3,4" count
You were always good and ready
To enter the "lion's cage"
And the "tiger's mouth" too
But I would have played to no audience
With nobody else but you
Nobody else but you
Nobody else but you
Nobody else but you

But soon every concert we played
Sold out and that became the norm
Everybody came to see "The Earaches"
Put on a show and perform
A concert that was memorable
And one they could take their kids to
But I would have played to no audience
With nobody else but you
Nobody else but you
Nobody else but you
Nobody else but you
