CVS Christmas

CVS Christmas

Jack couldn’t wait to open his presents on Christmas morning
But then he got a telephone call on Christmas Eve without warning
It was his manager at CVS telling him everybody has called in sick
And that he needs for him to work Christmas day just like St. Nick
This was when his face turned red just like that shiny red nose
On Rudolph as in his tracks and like an icicle on a house he froze
All he could do was say, “Yes” as he reached for his antidepressant drug
Then he slowly turned into Scrooge and uttered, “Christmas, Ba-humbug”
It’s going to be a CVS Christmas
It’s going to be a CVS Christmas
Opening presents with Mom and Dad
Is what Jack this year will miss
Because it’s going to be a CVS Christmas
Time for work and no time for a holiday kiss

Holly couldn’t wait to open her presents on Christmas morning
But then she got a telephone call on Christmas Eve without warning
It was her manager at CVS telling her that he needs her to work tomorrow
And that it was her precious holiday cheer that he needed to borrow
Because the store needed to be opened and he was on a tropical vacation
And if she didn’t comply than the unemployment office would be her destination
All she could do was say, “Yes” as the snow piled outside higher than an inch
Then she slowly turned into that mean one that they call “Mrs. Grinch”
It’s going to be a CVS Christmas
It’s going to be a CVS Christmas
Opening presents with Mom and Dad
Is what Holly this year will miss
Because it’s going to be a CVS Christmas
Time for work and no time for a holiday kiss

Christmas day finally came and Jack and Holly finally showed up at the store
But as they slowly walked through the snow and slower to the front door
They both saw each other which was when Holly smiled as she looked at Jack
Because Holly secretly liked Jack and secretly Jack liked Holly right back
And at that moment they both really didn’t care about working Christmas day
Because they would be together in the store while working for their pay
But before the store closed at 5pm and before it was time for them to go
They kissed in the middle of aisle 4 even though there was no sight of mistletoe
It was a CVS Christmas
It was a CVS Christmas
Opening presents with their parents
Is what Jack and Holly this year did miss
Because it was a CVS Christmas
Time for work but they found time for a holiday kiss
