No Better Than A Killer

No Better Than A Killer

Old men tell stories
Only the good ones...
Told from experience,
This world once judged you
Predator or prey;
The time I lost part of me
Becoming a killer that day.

I see big cat eyes, in every nights~nightmare
And I never leave home without a gun.
        She was my world,
My baby girl, with daddy's eyes
Momma's smile and good looks
Having just ten years an age.
I surmise, she went into the woods
To get me a surprise~berries
To go good with evening supper,
Where was I?
Unknowing, she would be the meal and suffer.
Tracking a bloody trail
Through dense brush and trees
Screaming her name,
Oh God please!
Finding what was left of her
Unsure that's really my baby girl,
But I knew.

Hells door, kicked open
Releasing me, my gun, and bowie knife
To track the demon down
Who killed my life, searching murder
Day and night.
Spying a mountain lion
Muzzle made of blood red,
It saw me before I saw it
Next thing I know it's on me
Knocking out of reach my gun.
Mauling arms, still feeling
These painful scars,
It positions head towards the throat
Grabbing on instinct my knife and letting it go,
Into the lower jaw it entered
And for a moment I saw the change in eyes
(Those ones that haunt my nightmares)
In that look it said, all this was not my fault
But instead of remorse
Rage, revenge was all I felt
Withdrawaling blade
Reinserting through it's brain;
My meal that night
Was served on a cold dish.

Every year,
Since that day
My scars start to itch
Gun and knife take on a shine,
A recreation of revenge
Plagues me mind.
Nothing will suffice,
Until heated hate is fed
And I fill my walls
With those killer's heads.

Thank you C. I wasn't sure if it was legend but I changed it anyway. Too much animal planet lately lol. I caught a very disturbing story that occurred in India, of a big cat snatching a girl on a trail Through the jungle very sad and inspired this tale. They actually say there is some sort of virus that is affecting these cats that give them no fear of us and you can see that's a problem. Thanks for reading always love hearing from you.
