What Choice

What Choice

They told them 'no...'
'No, you can not go'
The yearning to aspire and grow...
Did not show
Only the hatred, the violence
Followed by the eerie silence
All of the killing happened so fast
Thinking one day this too will pass
Improve your future by studying their past
They closed their eyes to hide what was hidden inside
Happy thoughts of their farm
Children being ripped me from mothers arms
Making a soldier
thinking of his baby sister
Wishing he could hold her
They threatened if to flee
They would kill entire families
You see...
The killing does not define the man in thee
Perhaps doing it for their family
Seeming a set fate
All the violence and hate
Now imagining how hard it is
To reintegrate
