NO FOOD IN THE HOUSE

I open my fridge door and nothing is thereĀ
Opening my cupboards they are empty and bareĀ
No food in the house it just isn't fairĀ
I'm hungry and this is too much to bearĀ

A thought then occurred to me as I went to the shopĀ
If I went to a restaurant my hunger would stopĀ
So off I went and ordered vegetables and a chopĀ
For a drink I had a raspberry soda pop Ā

My hunger pains restored was hungry no moreĀ
I smiled to myself as I entered my door Ā
Then it occurred to me I still had no food in storeĀ
Back where I started from for this I'm sure
