No guest

Silence is no guest
in this life,
It is the water
that cleanses;
the breath that clears
the dust from the day.
I always put
every spoken word
on a wobbly stack,
each sentence Iโve heard
on ten others,
never archiving them
until I am home again
seated on the lap of silence.

This is quite the mindful write. How often do we sit back after a day, and reflect on the clutter in our minds. Really beautifully depicted in this wonderful almost like a meditation, poemย
Gwen :)
Thank you, Gwen, the Lady knows I have over forty adult years experiences in cluttering the mind and only a few years of de cluttering in silence๐
Such an intrinsically deep poem John. Language, how it has evolved, how we inspire each other. Really it is an infinite loop am I right. Such a thought provoking read here. Just had to pin
Hi, Max thanks again. To think I wrote this late at night and almost dumped it for it seemed too light, too simple... Luckily I had a good night's sleep and a little help from the wife disagreeing with one detail in the translation (it's originally Dutch)... Have a good day๐๐
Quiet can be deafening indeed.
Great poem.ย
Hanx, and indeed silence can be deafening, drowning our all daily noises. There is way too much unnecessary noise in the world ๐
