No Longer

No Longer

No Longer beneath the cherry tree
or in the wooded glen.
Or by the babbling brook,
will we ever stroll again.

Never more shall we wander
beside the rivers banks.
To listen to the songbirds
In freedom give their thanks.

No more the bending barley
Or the sway of windblown grass.
Whispering sweet loves secrets
as together we would pass.

You still sit by the meadow
Where together we did kiss.
As though the ghostly shadows
Could bring you what you miss.

But now as you look above you .
No blossomed cherry tree you see
But the passing mournful branches
of the weeping willow tree.

wow! this is so poetic, and the meter/cadence is perfect. I appreciate its sad tone. But I hope that the healing has begun.
