Poem -

No one’s ever gone

I left them alone,
Boarded the plane,
My heart was no longer made of stone,
I awaited the pain,
Feeling the weight of my bones.

Everything seemed smaller,
Not like I thought it was,
One thing I did recognize,
came thundering down.
Drip Drip Drip.

I thought to myself,
I’d shoot them a text,
Tell them everything was ok
.. I guess

The months flew by
The grass grew
Flowers died
And dreams came true
I seen them again
Because they were the only family I knew
