Nobody Hears

He's insecure.
In his mind he's a prisoner.
He tells his problems to the school counselor.
She listens but doesn't hear.
He's gasping for air.
He feels like for this life, he wasn't prepared.
Doesn't know if he'll last another year.
Nobody hears his cries, they're not aware.
With his brother he always gets compared.
For his life he's scared.
He hasn't been asked if he's ok, he starts to think no one cares.
Keeps everything inside, nothing is shared.
Everyone seems fine, is there something wrong with how he's wired?
To be normal and happy is what he desired.
Instead he's always on guard,
With his heart secured.
Wanting this sadness to be cured.
