Heaven Bound Raven
Broke down my walls Just to watch me crawl
Towards you with legs that could no longer fall
Broken and torn I cried through it all
Pain meant nothing
Or the wounds that were gushing
My heart begged to feel your words so loving
But your actions weren’t so trusting
My castle crumbled at your feet
My men waved their white flags with defeat
My white doves shot down with one last tweet
The world stopped turning in disbelief
So tell me, friend
As I look up at you with my legs bent
And I begin to ask you ‘What was your intent?’
Then I will tell you a future with you is what I had dreamt
Not as your Cupid-struck-lovers
But a bond that bloomed beautiful flowers
In a remote place left untouched by humans to discover
A place that could flourish if only you went to uncover
See, this place was built on a foundation
For you to build onto where everyone else risked damnation
But a house and a home is what I have mistaken
And in the horizon I see a looming raven
I have given you what most seek
But I can’t gift it to the blind and the meek
So with the last words that I breathe I forgive you my friend, and I love you, but to
Heaven is where I’ll leave
