Nobody Notices
There is this teenage boy crying,
Crying 'cause his mother is dying.
Dying from a sickness that's dominant,
While the family is insolvent.
His classmates think he's a fool,
A fool for crying at school.
But does anyone stop and ask why?
Few may stop and wonder,
What happened to this boy who's now asunder.
This frivolous boy that was full of joy,
Who's now full of sadness and coy.
His mother just had her last breath,
And the boy was there for her death.
The crying is now incessant,
And the boy is on antidepressant.
People continued to make fun of this boy for crying,
Even though he too was dying.
Dying from the jokes that are being said,
And from the notes he had read.
But nobody stops and notices.
He is now irascible and annoyed,
Annoyed at life and all its joy.
A few days have gone by and he wants to commit suicide,
Just to be by his mother's side.
But nobody stops and notices.
He told a few people of his plans, but they thought it was apocryphal and...
Thought he was seeking attention, yet he has never done that in his life span.
He's finally fed up with all the rumors and lies, and decides he really wants to fly.
He wants to fly backwards and downwards, so he can look up at the night sky as he dies.
The next morning people were appalled,
To see the innocent boy who had bawled.
Faculty and students believed it was a desultory action,
No one could stand to look at the boy's body, due to the hard impaction.
A week or two has gone by,
Nothing has changed except for the absence of that guy.
The students who had driven him to commit suicide,
Didn't even blink an eye.
They still pick on the affable and untenable kids,
And showed no signs of regret for what they did.
Nobody notices the things people face outside of school,
So never let your automatic judgment over rule!
