Northern Laser Lights

A mystery of northern night life.
Nature's performance of laser lights
On a background of velvet black sky.
Dotted by millions of silvery sequins
Shining brightly in three dimensions.
The planets and stars of our universe
The glittering stars above.

In an ever changing pattern
Of glowing greens with hues
Of mauve, pink and blues
The Northern Lights display their splendor.
Rolling gently to and fro
As if hanging in a smoked glass window.
Fluttering in the midnight sky
Like silken drapes blowing in the wind.
I marvel at the beauty again and again.
