Not Love

She waited and he never came

In her naivety she thought there was a connection

She went to find him

She didn't know which way to go 

So, through her insanity she followed signs

The signs led her to his door

He let her in

She sat on the floor in his hall

He threw a steel toecap boot at her head

He broke her nose and blacked her eyes

She did not know that this was not love

He hurt her
She loved him

He abused her
She loved him

He controlled her
She loved him

He raped her 
She loved him

And then one day she left him

This was not love.
