Poem -

not the man i thought i was - or the woman an apple cost

 Dust heated friends
why pray in my head
this altar is erected spaced before regret
someones asleep in my rented womb
im not the man i thought i was
or the woman deep inside

the bed is dirty my mind unclean
feet are and rooted in the birth
i will never be the man you think iam
or the woman you designed at work
i clean my teeth with the wire brush
spit out all the given rust

Future knocks on a neighbours door
brass handles for the carrying
lay on my floor
Crows i dress in darkest thought
i linger in flame,
while the devil reports

the man you wanted
is in the woman i am
freedom carried by the severed hand
smoking dope
i drink your health
for the highway is built for stealth

place me in your padded cell
its safe in there for you as well
feed me meat and call me wrong
see
i know the words to every song
bleach my eyes so i cannot hear
cutoff my ears so the vision is wrong

somewhere created by words
written or carved
spat or absurd

IM NOT THE MAN I THOUGHT I WAS
OR THE WOMAN AN APPLE COST
