Not Then But Now
Madame is wearing her pop socks and housecoat,
wherever she goes, there's still the same 'float,'
my hair is straight, not like the old curly perm,
we're still the same although gone past half-term.
Now we live in a fancy house with swimming pool,
since winning the lotto, we're nobody's fool,
those old days maybe seemed better than now,
because we were 'untouched' and a powerful duo.
We had insight, intuition, perspicacity, audacity,
fresh, ready to take on anyone it seemed to me,
however, the experience kicks in, good or bad,
going on from those good old days that we had.
Madame is beautiful, serene, as she always was,
If someone asks me why I love her, it's simply because.
