The November wind was blowing
It blew the remaining tardy leaves
From their precarious perches..
I remember when we met
In the country lanes walking.
Healing our hearts from the
summer of sorrows now passed.
Rejection flowing as a poison
in our veins.

You said the wind is speaking to us
But I could already hear its message
Beware--- Beware--- Beware
I looked up into your lovely face
so solid and trustworthy.
Eyes that could see into my soul.

But the wind was blowing
Cold and hard it blew into my eyes.
Its message clear and crisp
he is blinding you

The wind was blowing
It chilled my heart
Its message now louder
Don’t trust, leave him

I listened to the wise November wind
I let his beauty fly away
with the red leaves of autumn.
Instead we made small talk and parted
Your footsteps
hidden by the voices
of the wailing wind.

I turned to leave

and my friend
the November wind
Blew the teardrops dry in
my red red sad eyes.
