Poem -
A Ghoul's Prayer
Now I sit me down to eat,
Savored most, sweetmeat
Prey feeds the savage beast,
As I bow my head to feast.
Apathy plagues callous heart,
Though, I rip raw flesh apart.
Gelid eyes accusing stare,
I'm just too ravenous to care.
Β Methodically I lie in wait,
Sites set to obliterate
Victims, please wander here,
Alas, I so crave you near.
Jaundice eyes fiercely glow,
Under waxen moon hung low
Glisten sanguine smile,
Froth acid, fetid, bile.
Decay betwixt keen fangs,
Incites so hunger pangs.
Only mercy I shall show,
A quicken death I'll bestow.
Deathblow fiendish might,
Leaves no chance for you to fight.
Unapologetic for intrusion
I'm but foregone conclusion.

Sounds as if you were describing a dark side which lurks with everyone's soul, and mind. The terrors within, fueled by the fears. Feeding the spiritual parasite. It can never be evicted. But it can be controlled. One can only acknowledge it is there. And accept it as part of who they are deep down. Boy I'm getting deep here lol I get carried away by my very analytical self sometimes :D Well written, and excellent piece :)
