La Llorona

La Llorona

Maria, Maria what twas done?
Silenced babes one by one
Cast in raging river to drown
Forlorn maid in bridal gown

Fated to endlessly roam
Scour waters to usher home
Guilt taints embittered heart
N’ver again mercy to impart

Fair lady in soiled attire
Β Prowl amidst quagmire
Haunt murky riverside
Lineage pursues riptide

Tears season sodden graves
Denied love one craves
Eternally cursed one shall be
Cherubs swaddle briny sea

I have read some legend like this so i found this dark poem haunting and enchantingly macabre , poignant. Kudos!
