Nowhere Called Home...

Nowhere Called Home...

My bedroom was my place, a fortress where I wrote,
A castle that was mine, but still dark, lonely and cold,
Scared of the future, maybe the truth will unfold?
Just 16 years old, crying, my self worth is unknown.

I've left a person behind, a person that I once knew,
I've left a personality, a feeling that never felt blue,
A smile that had no worries, a body that fooled no wardrobe,
A mind that carried stories, an image that became a ghost.

Who am I fooling?
Myself;

I keep moving around, killing time, telling myself lies!
I listen to sounds, hide your frown, just be a funny clown!
I'll never be someone!
I'll never find someone!
Maybe,
I don't know,
I've nowhere called home...

Let one of my smiles falsely linger, like a tipple of gin, rhubarb and ginger,
I fall through the cracks, I'm in the shadows, like a wandering stranger,
I'm too old for this!
Youth was my friend,
Now, grey is on my head,
Not a stylish choice,
Just an older voice.

The voice is telling me, tuck yourself in or at least, sit on the edge,
I may still write, but free as I am, I'll never be chained to my bed,
I can't stop feeling this way, the stories in me, are behind my eyes,
My heart is here to read, my soul is yours to find,
Yours to find.

I keep moving around, killing time, telling myself lies!
I listen to sounds, hide your frown, just be a funny clown!
I'll never be someone!
I'll never find someone!
Maybe,
I don't know,
I've nowhere called home,

Lonely is a place I go,
Lonely is a place I know...

Do you see it?Β
