Obesity In The USA

There is such a sad statistic, that gnaws at me each day;
Two-thirds of the population, are overweight in the USA!
I watch them as they struggle, carrying 100 or more extra pounds;
Prime candidates for diseases, not much longer to be around!

I wonder how it happened, why the multitudes are fat;
Is it because they never exercised, and on their asses sat?
Of course, their diet is atrocious, calories three times what they need;
Meat laced with steroids and antibiotics, due to agricultural greed!

We need to have a Renaissance, to make people more aware;
Teach them healthy eating habits, for their body to always care!
Mix that in with ardent exercise, their endorphins then will flow;
The pounds will drastically lessen, and their happiness will grow!
