Observations on the Early Shift

Observations on the Early Shift

Hardly a sound on this early start
It's so quiet, you could hear a church mouse fart
Working here on the hilltop, you see the weather closing in
Sunlight fading,as heavy clouds are rushing in
High winds are coming, you can tell from the trees
Birds nesting at lower levels,to stay out of the breeze
Yes,Christmas is gone, but winter weather is still here
Don't think it'll be long before the snowflakes appear
Roll on summer,I'm sick of the cold
I guess you feel it more, when you start getting old
