Poem -
An ode to the intellectually hungry Woman
They released her
On graduation day
With all the weapons of academia
and she`s out to make a reputation
In the literary world
From New York to Istanbul
Knows all the works of Aristotle
Studied at the feet of
Confucius and Plato
She invents idioms in her free time;
and not just for the functionally literate
or to sound 'street' or twist out a rhyme
And she understands that a Ph.D.
Can't be sexually transmitted
and has one in English and one in Chemistry
She wants everything, worth having;
The ultimate, iron-willed alpha
with an appetite beyond frightening
Pulling all the strings
At the top of the food chain
She is the intellectually hungry woman
