Ode to the brave airman of world war 2
Flights of danger
Ode to the Brave Airmen of World War II
Soaring high,
in the boundless sky,
Bombs exploding,
as they fly.
Flak bursts all around,
a deadly dance,
Shot from the ground,
no second chance.
Messerschmitts zip and dart,
Shooting with precision,
tearing hearts apart.
In these dark times,
many fail to return,
Lost in the chaos,
their fate we mourn.
From the 100th squadron,
brave and bold,
32 out of 35,
stories untold.
One moment here,
the next they're gone,
Their sacrifice,
the dawn of victory's song.
These valiant soldiers of the skies,
Their courage,
the reason why,
The war was won,
through fire and flame,
Their legacy,
an eternal flame.
With bombs and bullets,
they fought the fight,
In the darkest hours,
they brought the light.
Their bravery,
a beacon in the night,
Their sacrifice,
our guiding light.
To the airmen who took to the skies,
We honor you,
with tear-filled eyes.
Your spirit,
forever in our hearts,
Your legacy,
a work of art.
Through war's tempest,
you soared above,
With explosive courage,
and endless love.
In victory and loss,
your story's told,
A testament to the brave and bold.
But the pain left behind,
On both sides,
a heavy toll,
Families shattered,
with hearts left cold.
Mothers weeping,
fathers lost,
Children growing up,
counting the cost.
Friends and comrades,
forever scarred,
Colleagues mourning,
their lives marred.
The echoes of war,
the sorrow it brings,
The devastating loss, forever it clings.
In honor of your sacrifice,
we vow to remember,
The pain,
the loss,
through each cold December.
For every life lost,
a hero's tale,
Your memory,
a beacon,
through the gale.
