Oh Billy Boy
Wednesday was the utmost saddest, for a friend of mine named Doug;
Because a terrible fate befell him, his heartstrings sorely tugged!
His best friend for over sixteen years, his beloved Billy Boy;
Had to leave his side for Heaven, ne’er again to share their joys!

Part Beagle and Jack Russell, he was a feisty little guy;
Occasionally he would get loose, and out the door he’d fly!
But he always came home to Daddy, whom he loved so very much;
For there could never be a substitute, for his Daddy’s loving touch!

I write these words for my good pal, whom I’ve known over twenty years;
Hoping they will console him, and alleviate some tears!
Your Billy Boy is gone now, but lives forever in your heart;
He will be your mate eternally, for your Souls will never part!

R. I. P Billy Boy ❤️ it sounds like he was a right little character. Our little fur babies bring us so much love and joy that to lose them is so very painful. I heard a poem the other day. It was called "Just A Dog" and it was an outstanding poem. I am not sure who wrote it but it was read by a professor who is known as a 'super vet.' I am sorry for your friend's loss x
My Dear Being Me,
When I spoke with Doug last Monday, he said Billy had gone blind, but was doing okay otherwise. I was shocked to find out that at his visit to the vet on Wednesday, he told Doug that Billy was suffering, and it was best to end his pain. It brought back the saddest memories of our beloved Nico and Cody, who left us very quickly too. Thank you for your lovely words.
