Oh Saturday

Oh Saturday, Oh Saturday, you’ve brought such happiness and pain;
Two with shouts of ecstasy, but two with tears of rain!
A brutal dire dichotomy, when thinking of the past;
To smile with those that brought such joy, or weep for sad lots cast!

The first to bring a happy face, was “The Day of The Kazoo”;
When a photographer with her instrument, snapped a priceless photograph of you!
The second was the one we went, to get you a little bro;
That we selected our dear Cody on, and you loved him ever so!
.
But then there are the other two, the first on a Valentine’s Day;
You became so sick you could not eat, and Monday night you went away!
Then just thirty more months later, your little Brother left;
On the saddest of all Saturdays, now forever so bereft!
.
Oh Saturdays, each one that comes, brings me such “catch twenty-twos”;
Whether to dwell on all the love we shared, or to drown in all my blues!
I start out with a smiling face, I reflect on times of joy;
But then my soul begins to weep, for I miss my Little Boys!
