Ok Moon

Ok Moon

Shot the moon it fell

Bounced off earths encrusted shell

It smiled all the while

Glimmering rolling crushing mountains

Happily it rendered the earth flat

Columbus was wrong

The ships sailed off the edges

The dirt slid off the sides

It tipped one way then the other

The scales were off too many measures

Gold it sat upon the middle

The cow jumped over space

The fiddler played a goodbye song

It was all but gone

Though you know what was left

A silly bear in a cowboy hat

He clung to a tree in the forest

All the sudden the lightning struck

Catching the forest afire

It was started in spite of the warning

I guess God didn’t know

All that was left was a flat rock

Maybe don’t shoot the moon

Maybe it’s ok where it sits

Stepped the earth it shook

O it shook beneath the feet of all

O the waves crashed and fell...
