the old irish chair

the old irish chair

passed down through ancestors
wooden and old
the little chair stay's
alone and cold
no-one sit's on this hand carved wonder
century's old not even asunder
not to be touched
just looked at ,this chair
relative's come and go
amazed they stare
an old aunt has it now
in her cottage so bleak
the old irish chair
is nobody's seat
if she sat on it
she would find
memory's flooding to her mind
but maybe that chair
with ancient past
will give her too many
tear's that run fast
so on it will go,passed down through time
the old irish chair,a history of mine
