Poem -

Old Man Under the Moon

Under the silver moon,
an old man sits, next to a raccoon.
The raccoon chirps, like a bird,
and the old man is dressed like a fyrd.

The old man holds a big book
On his face, there is a look

Of wisdom
Or maybe boredom?

The old man puts away the book
Shoves it so hard in his bag that it shook.

Takes out lots of stone figures
With red strings tying them up.

A young man walks by the old man
He is curious, as you may understand?

He asks: "Hey, what are you doing?"

The old man replies:"Not much, I'm gonna get going."

The young man grabs the old man by the arms
Telling him that he meant no harm.

The old man sighs and sits
While the young man toys with a peach pit.

"These red strings are the strings of destiny.
No matter how tiny
One is
If their string is tied
They will meet someone, eventually, by and by."

"The strings were tied between you and I
Which is why we are talking
And I express no fright."

"But now I must say goodbye."

What happened to the moonlight?
It is gone....where's the beautiful sight?

The old man is gone
With a little light upon
The shining light of dawn........
