OLD RHEUMY EYES

Sad old rheumy eyes...
Existing in gaps
Between space
Unaware of time
Or place
Where the blank wall
Holds such promise
Your blank gaze enthralled
By timeless journeys

Down memories halls
Sad old rheumy eyes...
No travel for you
In realities car
Cushioned by distance
You float way off far
All sound and cries
Tweaks
Leaks
The yakking beaks
The shuffling feet
Pass by
Into the ether
Sad old rheumy eyes...
No sense of who
Or when
Or where
No need of now
As you descend the stairs
Of time
Sad old rheumy eyes...

Now your eyelids flutter
As you doze for a while
Deeply lost
To a memory
You smile
Sad old rheumy eyes...
But it is not you that is sad
.......it is i.

Thanks Mathew, IV worked around these people for years but it has bothered me lately. I'm not sure anymore if it's worse for the sufferer or the families.??

Thanks Cherie, it is worse for the families to witness I think, mostly the person themself is too lost to be aware, awful... ??
