~ On Crying ~

~ On Crying ~

In a strange slumber, did my spirit
Reveal
Ancient tears, that released
A sadness that drank
The dew
From my soul...

Through this drowning man's pain
And with thoughts
Splashing about
Did my shoulders unburden
A weight
From the lashes of life
And the melancholy from mausoleums
Where my heart
Had been torn into portions
Of fragmented,
Torturous, mazes,
That proved to me
Escape
Was near impossible
Leaving
My face buried
Deep in my hands
And in a most remorseful
Repose
Where healing meditation
(I prayed)
Would begin
And leave me
Less tragic,
Less me,
And more like the man
I knew,
I was meant,
To be....

This,
And so much more,
From crying...

What a beautiful poem!! I always enjoy your reads. Although we often cry out of anger or sadness or hurt, it is proven the act of crying actually ultimately makes us feel better. We are purging our soul. It isn't healthy to stuff emotions, so crying is healthy and natural. Thank you for writing about such a sensitive subject. ? ?
