On Thin Ice

The owner of the company, where Linda has her job;
Spoke with her yesterday morning, and made her start to sob!
He said business was really terrible, and he had to lay her off;
She called me really devastated, his words brought out my scoff!
.
I said that a small advance notice, would have been the civil thing to do;
Give you time to seek employment, and save you from the blues!
In the afternoon he recanted, saying she could work from day to day;
To see if he could figure out, the funds to provide her pay!
.
But we are treading on thin ice here, the writings on the wall;
For we think it won’t be too long now, before he makes the dreaded call!
So just when we were beginning, to get ahead a little bit;
We got totally blindsided, and again, are in deep shit!
.
.
When one door closes
Another one will open
Please make it soon

Hello Larry...
Maybe, she could take a break and depend on you?
Construction slows down in the winter...
So much chaos and uncertainty everywhere, a lot of people are postponing projects...
I need new tires for my vehicle, why should I replace them when they may say we can't drive them?
People think they're so clever...
Not everyone is on the same page with you and wants to live in a Venezuela type Country...
I tried to tell you...
But, you're so much smarter than I am...
Surely, you had plan B...
I'm sure you'll think of something...
Great write!
Thank you for sharing...
Hugs...

Dear Sparrowsong,
They are now talking about her working part-time for a while, so we're waiting to see what happens this week.
Of course, with the income from our art business, coupled with our social security, we will get by, but not be able to save much, unless I find a lost treasure.
Thanks for caring.
Love,
Larry xxx
P.S. People have to prepare just in case...
They have to invest in their possible survival...
This is unfamiliar territory for a lot of people...
Hugs again...
Larry there was this gospel song we used to sing in church that comes back to me many times over the years and here it is again. I'd sing it for you guys but here goes, He's an on time God, oh yes He is, He may not come when you want Him but He'll be there right on time. He's an on time God oh yes he is! Wouldn't it be nice if it would come early more often. So sorry for the stress, I will keep y'all in my prayers. Love the poem! Love, Terry Kay

Our Dear Terry,
As did your sweet comment come "right on time", to bring some joy to our hearts. What lovely words you have sent us.
You are a very dear and sweet friend.
All our love,

Sweet Fashion and Linda...this made me sad. But I believe a bigger door would be opened sooner than you think.Â
Love you both
Our Dear Sweet Rose,
You must have been intuitive, and figured out that in my younger years, I was quite a snazzy dresser.
Don't be sad, because we think that things will work out.
All our love,
Linda and "Fashion" xxx
