once upon a time...

Once upon a time there was a woman.
She worked endless at a laundromat.
To find a certain gentleman looking at her.
The look when you just know and he act as if it was just laundry talk.
It was so much more.
He was flicking her heart like it was a light switch.
Her heart beat was music to his ears.
They didn't end there, one date led to another.
When it came to time it was endless.
Soon enough she at a lil boy.
Then two years later a lil girl.
She called them her precious pearls.
Oh how much she loved her pearls, they were expensive indeed.
Only in love.
When the gentlemen showed his true colors he ended up behind iron bars.
Oh did the beauty of the women weep.
Not for his absent but that she found out his love wasnât real.
When all the things she has disappeared and times were short.
Another man stepped by her side.
For nothing.
âWhyâ? She thought.
Every man wants something.
She couldn't figure it out for years.
Her love grew bright.
He learned to love another woman's pearls even if there wasnât his.
The women started seeing the worth in one pearl,
more than the other.
The handsome young man became a hero.
The beautiful girl became a work of art.
But the woman could never understand what she never learned.
For her mother too never understood what worth she was.
This all became a game at love.
The art against the hero, who was the villain?
It was the person underneath the man.
He grew darker with every sip from his drink was a evil potion.
Soon enough he didn't need the potion.
His heart was filled with it.
Oh did he love those pearls of the woman.
But the art was the one he wanted the most.
When he got her he punched a hole into the portrait of beauty.
He dropped the pearl onto the ground and cracked it.
When the woman found out it was too late.
All she could do was tell him to leave.
He left and never returned for years.
But it could never take back what torcher he did to that pearl.
Three years destroyed 14 years of love for the woman.
That was a burden the lil girl had to carry for the rest of her life.
The lil boy became a man and left.
The girl lost her way many times.
One day the broken girl looked into the mirror and said.
âLove is a losing gameâ.
