Once upon a time 💕
I read you ‘Once upon a time’ before you shut your sleepy eyes
I hushed your “Mammy I don’t want to sleep”
I stopped your tiresome cries
We travelled to Fairyland
We played in Neverland
You flew out of your window
Peter Pan held your tiny hand
A golden ship sailed the stormy sea
We saw pirates and Captain Hook
Peter Pan, Wendy with Tinkerbell
They all appeared from out picture your book
Oh how you loved your bedtime stories
Magic filled your sleepy head
Your little face was full of wonderment
When I turned the pages as I read
Then I’d tuck you in your bed
I’d kiss your cheek and say “Nighty night”
But you were always fast asleep in dreamland when I switched off your bedroom light..
