Once Upon A Time...

Once upon a time I laughed until I cried,
Giggles bubbling up as my tears dried, 
Little droplets of heartfelt joy,
My heart belonging to a humorous boy.

Once upon a time this boy made me smile,
Smile until I laughed and he grinned all the while,
His grin turning into a devious smirk,
My heart faltering as he became a jerk,

Once upon a time this jerk made me cry,
Cry until I lost the desire to even try,
I tried to recover and heal my hearts,
My heart became whole and I chose to restart.

Once upon a time I started again,
I laugh until I cry now and then,
Happy tears and honest smiles,
On the road to happiness I eat up the miles.
