One Early Spring Morning

Spring

One Early Spring Morning
     Dr. Aney Paul
There is a big rock in my front yard
It is the beauty of my house
Kids love to play around,
Climb on it, and stand on it
Youth love to sit on it and
Share their stories

One early spring morning
I saw some green long leaves
And some yellow drooping buds
Yellow buds opened
Beautiful golden Daffodils
Smiling and dancing
In front of the rock, back of the rock
And around the Rock

While kids playing around the rock
May hurt my beautiful daffodils
I told the kids park is the safe place to play.
Daffodils are so beautiful
Radiating happiness around
Spreading the sign of spring

Everybody loves the daffodils...except me. I find them garish and showy and too luminous, too full of themselves somehow, a little fake. I can still appreciate a poem about beauty though...about a love of beauty, about a smile found and treasured. Your work is all these things x
