One Fetter Loose

Much freedom: the gift of love; and such freedom: the gift of
Pain; but whose freedom: freedom within the guidelines; and
Much freedom: the wealth of strife; and such freedom:
Freedom to obey; and what is freedom: a world of carte
Blanche; and such freedom: a field of terror; thus freedom:
A fence of rules: where even freedom—is unfree.
The test of freedom: a storm of violence: where children
Perish, and mothers cringe—pleading freedom; and freedom
Mourns: a land of poverty; and freedom wails: “set us free”;
And sleep the death: pretending freedom: a freedom void of
Innovation; but such freedom: the freest freedom; and much
Freedom: seldom extended; but our freedom: thirst of many lands;
And our freedom: a freedom to speak boxly; and our freedom:
A freedom to classify; and such freedom: a fetter loose.

The elegance and grace of this poem is palpable, Glenn...was reading out loud, wow, would love to hear it read out loud...very moving, I got from it that freedom is very personal and is appreciated or even defined differently (some may not recognize the freedom they have) by folks...is freedom a stand alone principle that still needs to be defined?...so much depth worth contemplation....great work, loved reading this  Â
I appreciate your comments, Christopher. Freedom comes across as more of a privilege than an inherent right; and it is designed by the few and lived by the many. Nevertheless, some forms of freedom are more free than others. I am still working on my delivery, where reading poems are concerned, but I look forward to the experience. Again. I thank you for you feedback. Â
Excellent, much appreciated, love, applause

Hello Glenn!..........the many forms of freedom.........which you so eloquently deliver here..........are more than just aspects...........they are enlightening variations on what we assumed we knew..........but when cast in the light of the Marchand pen...........we come to know more about freedom..........than most of us ever care to examine.............thank you............you're such a fine teacher.............much appreciated.............your friend and admirer............TÂ xx
I thank you for your comment and inspiration, Tony. Freedom is somewhat spotted; but our freedom grants us many liberties. I thank you again. Â
