One Final Breath
A poem that tells the story of love

The waves crash against the shore
Showering me in sandy, salty water
Wind blowing through my hair
I look out towards the sea and spot a familiar boat
I yell and wave
Happiness flooding through me
I race out to the dock awaiting their arrival
But happiness never lasts as long as you want it to
The sky turns dark
Clouds rapidly closing in
Thunder claps above and the sea is no longer safe
Rain, lightning and thunder, all raging on above him
The waves that were once peaceful little dancers
Now looming monsters threatening to crash
The boat rocks violently
I pray it arrives safely
But happiness isn’t real, is it?
One final crash and the ship sinks
He plunges to his death under the icy water
Love is a lie, they say
I never believed it until that moment
My love
Dead
Years later
I look out to the spot he died
The ship remains under the bright blue sea
What is the purpose of life without my other half?
I take one final glance towards home
Without a thought
I fall
Sinking to the bottom of the ocean
Peace at last
I can finally rest
Knowing I will see him soon

Such a sad moving piece of writing on love. Brilliantly written and great story telling xxx
It reflects how I feel when I lose someone I love, the narrator in this story is my heart and her love is my family
