One Hundred To Zero

He always starts at the top
Eager eyes always staring
At me below
For I'm his safety if he falls
My brother "simply take it slow"
One foot firmly placed
Brother let your body flow
He always makes that nervous face
"I'm not sure I want to go"
I always laugh and say
I'm here
I'm always here to watch you
And if you think it's getting hard
"Big brother gotchu"
Take it one step at a time
You'll reach the bottom
In the end
If together we have climbed
Then together We'll descend
He always makes that goofy smile
I always tend to smile back
At that point he always slips
At that point my mind goes black
I hear him echo in the fog
We've gone 100-0
It still haunts me in my dreams
"You're a killer"
Not a hero

Curious you're a really terrific poet, love where this poem takes me, all these swirling emotions and implications weaved together, you write with depth and thoughtfulness, I adore this poem for giving me a little more of itself every time I read it; and I've read it four times, pure quality
