One Minus One Equals Two

One Minus One Equals Two

Mathematicians will argue, that the figure is wrong; one minus one can’t be two;

But when losing the soulmate that one dearly loves, “their math” will never ring true!

For although you’re not here by my side anymore, you’ll never subtract from my heart;

You’ll remain in there for the rest of my life, from my soulmate I never shall part!

As Lincoln once said in his most famous address, “the poor power to add or detract”;

And this supersedes all known quantities, a universally recognized fact!

So now all pundits, I beg to differ with you, I don’t think that you’re able to fuss;

For when ones dearest soulmate is taken away, they are forever ensconced within us!

So now, I hope, you can reformulate, for your mathematics don’t always apply;

When it comes to true love that’s subtracted from one, out the window your math has to fly!

So sharpen your pencils, and recalculate, loves’ formulas always hold true;

When having to lose one’s dearest true love, one minus one always “is two”!
