What if we really are more than meets the eye

What if we have appendages that aren't part of our physis

What if our psyche belongs to hell

What if our pneuma is only on loan

Like one of those "rent-to-buy" schemes

What if I can't afford to keep her

What then

When the project is a wrap

When this whole operation is through

Will my worth determine up or down

Is this oscillation an unstable chemical reaction

Like a skin graft or a repalced organ

Are we searching for compatibility

Is there still a chance for symbiopneumosis

Or will we further divide

Fragment

And I tumble off the side

Split away from the earth mount

And plummet into the abyss

Will I rise up with Spirit to the Great Light

Or be further blinded by a carnal miosis
