One Who Whispers In The Ear

One cannot see the poison
Injected within a whisper
By the venomous serpents
That shape shift
To go easy on the eyes
In order to feed ill will
To the ears of power.

For if you feel
The cold scaly hands upon heavy shoulders
And what seems like enlightened words
Swept in by a breath
Scrambling a once brilliant mind
Be afraid to find
Parasitic cells attached to precious hosts
Devouring souls
As they spew their evil concoctions
Into the listening eager ears.

Who but us
Feels the effects
Of a twisted figure
That use to fly straight
Who looks sick of power
And so alive with death.
Nothing more than a shadow
Of skin and bones
A dark veil to conceal
The flashes of human
Plaguing his former self.

Do you feel sad
For these wretched souls
Who wallow in lonely decay
Begging death to spare
I don't care
About the now sorry sacks
When these devils silently whispered
In their ears
They answered back.
