The Only You

The Only You

Join me to contemplate ones self,

How can we truly know, who we are?

Do we use the best of us inside?

To measure against life’s par.

Think of what you stand for,

What burns behind your eyes?

Its good to let go sometimes,

When emotions won’t disguise.

Or do we use the worst of us,

To measure this seems cruel.

Admit the truth on this one,

To lie to you makes but a fool.

Life will test and hurt you,

In a million different ways.

The worst of you, is still you,

No matter how it plays.

So consider this, if the worst of you,

In the truest form, for us to see.

Or the best of you, is how we know,

The only you, is the you for me.
