Opening the Door

Whispers of unwanted desires

Scream into the ears of the unwanted

Grabbing a hold the advantage

Of our broken and shattered pieces

It intensifies our already

Seemingly unbearable pain

And magnifies it

Making our lives

Look pathetic and worthless

It leads us to forbidden doors

Leaving us with no defense

With not one little ounce of fight

Not even to throw our hands up in defeat

And some can’t help but stand there

And want to knock on this door

Of no hope

Of no return

But others feel the pull

They feel the strength

Of the other path

Less traveled by

They look back to see the brightly lit door

They pause in hesitation

They reach out Turning one of the knobs

Which, will be their choice

And ultimately their secret.
