OPERATION

OPERATION

I can't remember the green valleys but I could breathe,
maybe someone would tell me when it was time to leave,
not yet, there was work to be done as I was pushed along,
there were my parents on a bench, mother singing a song.

'You'll be fine,' they told me, 'think of sunshine and love,'
God is watching and your spiritual guides from above;'
Alice said: 'Come and tell me your dreams Telboy,'
I said that I'd like a big steak, that would be my joy.

'You think of food at a time like this, shame on you,'
'Sorry Alice, but what else is there for me to do;'
they all danced in the sunlight, mice holding hands,
the tortoise taught us to breathe again in magic lands.

It was time, the darkness lifted like a velvet cloak,
then I saw your smiling face, beautiful, when I awoke.
